Christ Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), headquartered in Mankato, Minnesota. We enjoy a fellowship relationship with twenty-four other church bodies throughout the United States and the world in the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference (CELC), including the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Our Evangelical Lutheran Synod owns and operates an award winning liberal arts college, Bethany Lutheran College, as well as Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, where students train for the pastoral ministry. Both institutions are located in beautiful Mankato, Minnesota.
Christ Lutheran Church is Port St. Lucie’s only Confessional Lutheran church. This means that we hold to the confessions handed down to us by our Lutheran forefathers. These confessions can be found in the Book of Concord, and include among other writings [outside links]:
The Three Ecumenical Creeds,
The Augsburg Confession, and
Luther’s Small Catechism.
You can learn more about us from our synod's brief doctrinal statement entitled:
We are a sacramental church, believing that God’s forgiveness, won for all through the perfect life and innocent death of His son, Jesus Christ, is now distributed to us by the Holy Spirit through the sacraments of Holy Baptism, The Lord’s Supper, and Holy Absolution.
We are a liturgical church, cherishing the liturgical rites preserved for us from antiquity. At Christ Lutheran Church, the focal point and primary purpose of Christian worship is Christ’s coming to us through God’s holy Word and life-giving sacraments (Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper) to bless us with faith and the forgiveness of sins. Having received so great a gift, we respond with thanksgiving and praise. We currently use Orders of Service derived from The Evangelical Lutheran Hymnary (ELS).
Christ Lutheran Church owns and operates Christ Lutheran School, a classical school that provides outstanding education for grades K-12.
